Synopsis: Exposing Shadows

Several sites of uranium have been recently discovered around the city, which catch the public’s attention. Against the backdrop of the rebellion movement, and the delta bombings that resulted in hundreds of casualties, a journalist by the name of Papal claims that a high rank individual illegally sells mined uranium to the rebels. The acclaims that the delta war is the outcome of the uranium that serves to create weapons of mass destruction are endorsed by Mr. Maxon as well, a famous environmentalist with the aspiration to take the presidency place.

After a mercenary called Undertaker fails to retrieve a document that has the power to expose his boss, he murders one of Mr. Maxon’s collaborators. His superior, the mysterious figure who desperately needs to have in possession the proof that connects him with the illegal mining and the rebel war, gives Undertaker an ultimatum – the hitman must track down Mr. Maxon’s hiding spots. On the other side of the city, Papal, the investigative journalist, goes to Mayor Jonah’s office. Because of their correspondence, and the mayor’s reserved attitude, the journalist becomes suspicious.

In the meantime, two high school students and best friends, Tom, and Simon, must fulfill an assignment in order to receive scholarship funded by the Maxon family. Simon is hesitant at first, as he doesn’t want to continue his education. On the other hand, Tom is determined to succeed. Guided by their teacher, Mr. Bridgewater, the two friends decide to take a set of pictures that have nature as the central motif.

When Tom and Simon walk through the forest with Tom’s camera, they suddenly become distracted by a loud noise. Soon after, Tom and Simon realize that they are witnessing a horrendous event. They get the camera ready, and record as Undertaker and his thugs gruesomely murder Mr. and Mrs. Maxon.

Shocked and in disbelief, the friends ran away in an instant. Unfortunately, they leave evidence behind – a flyer that has the school’s name on it falls from Tom’s pocket, which afterwards is discovered by Undertaker.

What Tom and Simon don’t realize that day is that their recording would have immense consequences. Thus, they soon learn that the officials are ready to offer one million dollars for any evidence that would lead to the discovery of Maxon’s murderers.

As every decision has its consequences, Undertaker’s gang murders Simon and Mr. Bridgewater. Now, Tom is the only one who has possession of the evidence. He is approached by two figures, who turn out to be Papal and James, Mr. Maxon’s second assistant. They know that Tom has the missing piece of the puzzle, as they already suspect that Mayor Jonah is Undertaker’s boss, and the one who sells illegally mined uranium to the terrorists. Still, the only thing that Papal needs is to support his hunch with tangible information.

In a rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns, Tom, Papal and James succeed in the plan to expose these collaborators.
